Devika Mathur - Sunrise

Between the sheets of cotton air,

she sings a song of winter tress

with a garden full of primroses,

of Earth in her golden skin.

Look, an earthen siren

a silhouette of a sweet lullaby.

Her feet splash water

while the her bosom sings as a cerulean sky.

Collecting, pressed dried sunflowers

she prepares a tea,

watching her legs swirling the sand

she thinks of her tangerine wounds

once a hiccup

now a gateway to the circular sunrise.

How writing has affected my Devika's wellbeing: "With all the pensive thoughts, a mind becomes a turbulent place to even think a further thought. Writing helped me to satisfy my inner hunger for words and in channelising my inner peace. A sense of tranquility splashes my chest as I churn my emotions out through poetry writing. I feel liberated and blissful as I write my words for my well being."
